Volunteer Spotlight

November/December  2017

This is month’s highlighted volunteer has been in the military all her life.  Ruth was born at George AFB, CA in 1954.  She grew up the daughter of a Minuteman who worked with intercontinental ballistic missiles.  She joined the Army in 1979, married into the Army, and then became a Department of the Army civilian for 30 years until she retired in 2014 to come home to the Space Coast.  She maintained Army wide oversight of the Emergency Action Message system at Signal Headquarters at Fort Huachuca.  She has three children and six, soon to be seven, grandchildren who are the light of her life.  She enjoys painting watercolor portraits and crocheting with Busy Fingers along with manning the front desk.  Ruth supports MASC by creating media flyers and computer designs, and offering her artistic guidance.
